National Day of Zambia
The National Day of Zambia is celebrated annually on the 24th October. This day is also known as Independence Day and celebrates Zambia’s independence from British colonial rule which ended on the 24th October 1964. The day is celebrated with various events and festivities throughout the country
National Day of Guinea-Bissau
The National Day of Guinea-Bissau is celebrated annually on the 24th September. This day celebrates the country’s independence from Portugal in 1973. (National Day of Portugal). This was after a long struggle for freedom led by the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC). See the National Day of Cape Verde for more information on them.
National Day of Dominican Republic
The National Day of the Dominican Republic is on the 27th February. The day celebrates the independence from Haiti. This was achieved on the 27th February 1844.
