The National Day of Bahamas is 10 July (Independence from the United Kingdom in 1973). As you will note that they not have an official National Day. However, the country celebrates its independence day annually on the 10th July. This marks the day in 1973 when the Bahamas gained full independence from Great Britain.

Firstly there was a change. National Heroes Day is a public holiday in the Bahamas that is celebrated on the second Monday of October, or October 8th if it falls on a weekend. The day is set aside to honor and recognize the contributions and achievements of Bahamian national heroes who have made significant contributions to the country’s development. The holiday was established in 2013 to replace Discovery Day, which commemorated the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Bahamas in 1492.
