national dayThe National Day of the Dominican Republic is on the 27th February. The day celebrates the independence from Haiti. This was achieved on the 27th February 1844. National Day of Dominican Republic

Firstly the independence movement of the Dominican Republic was led by Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, and Ramón Matías Mella. The day is celebrated with parades, concerts, and other cultural events throughout the country.

Firstly there was Juan Pablo Duarte. He is considered to be one of the most important peop0le in the history of the independence of the Dominican Republic. Duarte was born on the 26yj January 1813, in Santo Domingo. This was at the time also a colony of Spain. Finally he is considered one of the founding fathers of the Dominican Republic, and is honored as a national hero.
