National Day of Greece

national dayThe National Day of Greece is on the 25th March (Declaration of independence from Ottoman Empire 1821). Likewise the 28th October (Ohi Day, rejection of the Italian ultimatum 1940). Because Independence Day or known as the Greek Revolution Day celebrates the start of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821.

National Day of Greece

As stated before the National Day of Greece which is also called Independence Day or the Greek Revolution Day. This which is celebrated annually on the 25th March. It celebrates the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821. It was during this time that Bishop Germanos of Patras raised the Greek flag at the Monastery of Agia Lavra in the Peloponnese. This was the symbolizing of the beginning of the revolution. The Greek people fought for their independence for almost a decade before finally succeeding in 1830, with the help of various European powers.
