  • Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) Day:  August 16 (observed in the Brisbane area)

Additionally Royal Queensland Show, also known as Ekka. Accordingly this is an annual agricultural show held in Brisbane, Queensland. Also Ekka Day is a public holiday in the Brisbane area, including Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Somerset, and the Gold Coast. The holiday is usually observed on the second Wednesday in August, which is the opening day of the Ekka.

  • Queen’s Birthday:  October 2 (observed in the Torres Strait Island region)
