National Day of Guinea-Bissau
The National Day of Guinea-Bissau is celebrated annually on the 24th September. This day celebrates the country’s independence from Portugal in 1973. (National Day of Portugal). This was after a long struggle for freedom led by the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC). See the National Day of Cape Verde for more information on them.
National Day of Dominican Republic
The National Day of the Dominican Republic is on the 27th February. The day celebrates the independence from Haiti. This was achieved on the 27th February 1844. The National Day of Paraguay is on 15th May. It marks the country’s independence from Spanish colonial rule in 1811. Paraguay’s independence process began in 1810. This following the May Revolution in Buenos Aires and you can see this in the national day celebrations in South America.

National Day of Peru
Firstly the national day of Peru is on the 28th July. This is to celebrate their independence from Spain in 1821. The day is called the Fiestas Patrias, or Patriotic Festivals.
